Abstract
Active learning approach becoming an integral part of polytechnic education and there is an increasing evidence that active approach has the potential to improve teaching and learning with a more feasible engagement of the students in the innovative and creative activities. Recently, Nearpod platform has been used as an effort towards implementing active learning approach in teaching and learning at Politeknik Balik Pulau. This research investigated the impact of using Nearpod platform in implementing the active learning approach based on students’ perception on technology-enabled active learning and achievement. This research used mixed-mode to combined the methods of survey, experiment and interviews for collecting of data. Students’ achievement was measured using pre-test and post-test while the students’ perception on Technology Enabled – Active Learning (TEAL) was measured using questionnaire. Results of this research indicated that most of the students prefer the opportunities provided by Nearpod as an effort from lecturer to implement an active learning approach by adapting with technology in the classroom. The data obtained has proven that Nearpod can be an alternative towards active learning and improved student perception on technology-enabled active learning and achievement.
