Abstract

Curry puffs commonly sold from food stalls near the main road before the massive shopping centre. Therefore, it is not to be surprised if most local businessmen have chosen this curry puff making industry with a strong understanding of its ability to be commercialized so it can massively penetrate the local and international markets. Because of high consumer demand, the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) is improving to increase their production capacity which they come out with automation method. Using this method, they develop the most intelligent machine for producing high curry puff volume. The most important challenges encountered by small and medium-sized businesses contribute to higher labor demand and consumption. System automation can also control a product’s efficiency, through the ability of an automation program to reliably control process parameters. This research will investigate whether the problem can be solved with the implementation of curry puff machines compared using manual methods with low production levels, high manpower, job restriction, skills workers need, and low competition. And the aims to summarize on performance characteristics in curry puff machine prototype development. Therefore, the completion of this project is a very critical phase in the cycle of study. The implementation of this project is continuing on the appropriate lines, the data to be obtained will be adequate and accurate. The survey is to be carried out using standardized questionnaires; data can be processed readily by computer. Within such a case, questions can be coded, as well as potential responses. Meanwhile, the secondary source data is obtained by interviewers. The prototype is successfully done completely with appropriate analysis testing to prove respondent results regarding the workability, ability, and capability of using a curry puff machine. The finding shows that the curry puff machine proves the hypothesis which by using the machine, workability, ability, and productivity will be increase compare to the manual method. As a result, all four objectives are fully achieved. The significant performance characteristic of curry puff in the implementation of curry puff machines are well determined. The productivity and cycle time gives a big impact on SMEs after the implantation of curry puff where this result proves thru interview sessions, respondent, and analysis study from the curry puff prototyping. And lastly, the objective to evaluate the implementation of curry puff machines in terms of workability, ability, and productivity also achieved. This machine is expected to increase the workability ratio, and the company's manufacturing efficiency will continue to increase in line with the time that is now leading to industry 4.0.
